The AAC Module helps you control selected driver assistance systems in your Toyota more easily.

Depending on your vehicle and configuration, the module can help with systems such as:

• Speed warning (ISA – Intelligent Speed Assistance)
• Lane Departure Alert (LDA) or Lane Tracing Assist (LTA)
• Pre-Collision System (PCS)
• Driver Monitoring System (DMS)
• Blind Spot Monitor (BSM) and Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA)
• Parking Support Brake (PKSB) or parking warning systems
• other vehicle warnings or assistance functions

Instead of changing several settings manually after every start, you can use the AAC Module to apply your preferred setup more quickly.

Depending on your settings, this can be done manually with the Cancel button on the steering wheel or automatically with AutoPreset™.

You need:

• the AAC Module with the corresponding wiring harness
• a smartphone with the AAC Control app installed

The AAC Module is installed inside the vehicle using the supplied plug-in harness.

The exact installation location and steps depend on the vehicle model. For this reason, this guide does not include vehicle-specific installation instructions.

Depending on the vehicle model, the installation can be carried out by yourself or by a qualified workshop.

After installation, continue with the app setup.

Download and install AAC Control from:

• Apple App Store for iPhone
• Google Play Store for Android

Open the app after installation.

On first launch, the app will show a usage notice. You must accept this notice to continue.

The app is used to connect to the module, select your vehicle, configure functions and install firmware updates.

AAC Control requires Bluetooth access to connect to the module.

On some devices, additional permissions such as location access may be required because the operating system uses these permissions for Bluetooth device scanning.

Allow the requested permissions when the app asks for them. Without these permissions, the app will not work properly and will not be able to find your module.

1. Ensure that Bluetooth is enabled on your smartphone.
2. Start the vehicle.
3. Tap the module image or the connection status on the dashboard.
4. Select AAC V2 when it appears.
5. Wait until the app shows Connected.

When the module is connected for the first time, the setup assistant starts automatically.

Activate the AAC Module:

1. Start the vehicle.
2. Press and hold the Cancel button on the steering wheel for about 1 second (Standard Mode), or press it 3 times (Multi-Press Mode), depending on your selected setting.
3. The module will activate and apply your configured settings.

After activation, the selected assistance systems will be deactivated.

Deactivate the AAC Module:

• Press and hold the Cancel button for about 2 seconds (Standard Mode), or press it 3 times again (Multi-Press Mode).

AutoPreset™ is an optional paid feature.

The settings selected in the app are automatically applied after each vehicle start.

This means you do not need to press the Cancel button manually after each start.

AutoPreset™ can be unlocked in the app by:

• in-app purchase
• activation code

One AutoPreset™ licence is linked to one module.

Memory Mode is included with AutoPreset™.

Instead of using fixed app-selected settings, Memory Mode lets you adjust the settings directly in the vehicle. The vehicle’s current settings are saved when it is switched off and automatically restored at the next start.

In simple terms:

1. You set the systems directly in the vehicle.
2. The module saves your settings.
3. After the next start, similar to AutoPreset™, the module automatically restores these settings.

With the AAC Module V2, the module firmware can be updated wirelessly.

When an update is available, the app will show an update message on the dashboard.

To update:

1. Connect to the module.
2. Open the Information tab.
3. Select the firmware update section.
4. Download the update.
5. Switch the vehicle off
6. Start the installation.
7. Keep the app open until the update is complete.

The update may take several minutes.

The AAC Module monitors the vehicle’s battery voltage when the vehicle is switched off.

If the battery charge level becomes low, the module automatically switches itself off to help protect the battery from further discharge.

Switching on the vehicle will wake the module again.

Your settings remain saved.

A reset deletes the selected vehicle model and configuration.

You may use the reset if...

• you selected the wrong vehicle model
• you want to install the module in a different vehicle
• you want to set up the module from the beginning

After a reset, the setup opens again and the module can be configured from the beginning.

The app does not find the module

Try the following:

• make sure the vehicle is switched on
• after 2 minutes bluetooth deactivates till the car is started again
• switch the vehicle off and on again
• restart the app

If the wrong vehicle model was selected during setup, the module may not detect when the vehicle is started and Bluetooth may not be activated.

In this case, restart the module by briefly disconnecting the vehicle’s starter battery.

The settings cannot be changed

The module is probably active.

Deactivate the module first using the Cancel button, then open the configuration again.

This manual explains how to set up, configure and use the AAC Module and AAC Control app.

This manual does not replace the vehicle owner’s manual.

Always read and follow the owner’s manual of your vehicle. Vehicle systems, functions and warning messages may vary depending on model, market, equipment level and software version.

The AAC Module is an electronic module for selected Toyota vehicles.

It allows the driver to manage selected driver assistance systems more conveniently. Depending on the vehicle and configuration, the module can apply your preferred settings manually or automatically.

The module is configured with the AAC Control smartphone app.

The module can help with systems such as:

• Intelligent Speed Assistance (ISA)
• Road Sign Assist (RSA)
• Lane Departure Alert (LDA)
• Pre-Collision System (PCS)
• Driver Monitoring System (DMS)
• Driver Attention Warning (DAW)

The module does not add new vehicle safety systems. It automates or simplifies the operation of selected existing vehicle settings.

The AAC Module is intended to help the driver apply preferred assistance system settings more conveniently.

Typical use cases include:

• reducing repeated warning sounds after every vehicle start
• applying selected assistance settings with one steering wheel button action
• automatically restoring selected settings after vehicle start with AutoPreset™
• restoring the last vehicle-side configuration with Memory Mode
• optionally hiding warning lights for selected deactivated systems

The module is intended for use only in compatible vehicles.

Compatibility must be checked on the product page before installation.

4.1 Driver Responsibility

The driver remains fully responsible for:

• safe operation of the vehicle
• compliance with traffic laws
• vehicle control at all times
• correct use of vehicle assistance systems
• the safety of passengers and other road users

The AAC Module does not replace attention, safe driving or responsible vehicle operation.

4.2 Legal Responsibility

Only use the AAC Module where it is legal to do so.

Regulations may differ depending on country, region, vehicle type and use case.

Before using the module on public roads, the user is responsible for checking whether the use of the module and selected settings is permitted in their location.

4.3 Assistance Systems

Driver assistance systems are designed to support the driver. They do not make the vehicle autonomous.

If assistance systems are deactivated, reduced or hidden from view, the vehicle may behave differently from the manufacturer’s original default state.

4.4 Warning Lights and Warnings

Depending on your configuration, certain warning lights or warning messages may not be shown while the module is active.

This can affect what the driver sees in the instrument cluster.

Only enable warning light suppression if you understand and accept its effect.

4.5 Configuration While Driving

Do not configure the app while driving.

Only change settings when the vehicle is safely parked.

4.6 After Installation or Setting Changes

After installation or after changing settings check that the instrument cluster works normally.

4.7 Own Responsibility

Use of the module is at the user’s own responsibility.

The manufacturer is not responsible for improper installation, incorrect configuration, illegal use or unsafe operation of the vehicle.

Mandatory legal rights remain unaffected.

The AAC Module supports selected Toyota vehicles.

The exact supported models, model years and functions may change over time.

Always check the product page for:

• current vehicle compatibility
• supported model years
• available functions for your vehicle
• installation video availability
• notes or limitations for your vehicle

Not every supported vehicle has the same assistance systems.

Some functions may only appear in the app if they are supported by the selected vehicle model.

Only select systems in the app that are actually installed in your vehicle.

The standard package contains:

• AAC Module
• vehicle-specific wiring harness
• trim removal tool and cable ties

The exact contents may vary depending on vehicle model and product version.

Check your package before installation.

If anything appears missing or damaged, contact support before installing the module.

To use the AAC Module, you need:

• a supported vehicle
• the AAC Module with the supplied wiring harness
• a smartphone with the AAC Control app installed

The app is available for:

• iPhone via Apple App Store
• Android via Google Play Store

The app automatically detects the device language and sets the app language to either English or German accordingly.

The module is installed inside the vehicle using the supplied plug-in wiring harness.

The exact installation location and process depend on the vehicle model.

This manual does not include model-specific installation steps.

8.1 Before Installation

Before installation:

1. Park the vehicle safely.
2. Secure the vehicle against rolling.
3. Switch the vehicle off completely.

8.2 Installation Notes

During installation:

• follow the installation guide step by step
• ensure there is no tension on any wiring
• make sure cables and the module are not pinched or trapped
• ensure all connectors are properly locked into place
• take care not to damage connector pins when connecting or disconnecting
• protect all trim panels and covers from scratches during installation

8.3 Workshop Installation

Depending on the vehicle model and your experience, installation can be carried out by yourself or by a qualified workshop.

If you are unsure, installation can be carried out by any official dealership or any workshop using our installation video.

AAC Control is the official app used to configure and manage the AAC Module.

AAC Control requires certain smartphone permissions to work correctly.

10.1 Bluetooth

Bluetooth access is required to find and connect to the AAC Module.

If Bluetooth is disabled, the app cannot connect to the module.

10.2 Additional Permissions

On some devices, additional permissions such as location access may be required because the operating system uses these permissions for Bluetooth device scanning.

If the required permissions are denied, the app may not find the module.

10.3 Internet Access

Internet access may be required for:

• downloading firmware updates
• checking available updates
• unlocking paid features
• restoring purchases

Normal module operation does not require an internet connection.

11.1 Bluetooth Availability

To reduce unnecessary wireless activity and improve overall system stability, the module is not always visible by Bluetooth.

The module is normally available as follows:

Module state and Bluetooth availability:

Not yet configured: Continuously available
After the vehicle is started or switched on: Approximately 120 seconds
After module restart: Approximately 180 seconds
After disconnecting from the app: Approximately 60 seconds
Deep Sleep Mode: Not available until the module wakes up

For best results, start the vehicle or switch it to READY mode and connect within about two minutes.

11.2 Connection Steps

1. Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your smartphone.
2. Start the vehicle or switch it to READY
3. Open AAC Control.
4. Tap the module image or any of the two buttons "Configure" or "Information" to open the connection sheet.
5. Select AAC V2 when it appears.
6. Wait until the app shows Connected.

11.3 Disconnecting

To disconnect from the module, tap the connected module again in the connection screen.

When closing the app while connected, the app may ask whether you want to disconnect from the module.

When the module is connected for the first time, the setup assistant starts automatically.

The setup consists of:

1. selecting the vehicle model
2. selecting the systems and functions
3. choosing activation behaviour
4. choosing the module mode
5. saving the configuration

12.1 Select Vehicle

Choose your exact vehicle model from the list.

Important: Select the correct vehicle model.

Choosing the wrong vehicle model can cause incorrect behaviour or connection problems.

12.2 Select Systems

Choose which systems the AAC Module should manage.

Only select systems that are actually available in your vehicle.

By default, no systems are selected.

If you do not understand a system, tap the information icon in the app to read the explanation.

12.3 Warning Light Suppression

You can choose whether warning lights for selected deactivated systems should be hidden.

This function is disabled by default and must be enabled manually.

Before enabling it, read and accept the warning shown in the app.

12.4 Activation Method

Choose how the module is activated and deactivated with the Cancel button.

Available options:

• Standard Mode
• Multi-Press Mode

12.5 Module Mode

Choose the operating mode:

• Standard
• AutoPreset™
• Memory Mode

AutoPreset™ and Memory Mode may require an optional unlock.

12.6 Deep Sleep

Deep Sleep is enabled by default.

It helps reduce power consumption when the vehicle is switched off.

The dashboard is the main screen of the AAC Control app.

It shows the most important module information at a glance.

Depending on connection status, the dashboard can show:

• Connection state
• Module state
• Module image
• Selected vehicle model
• Update availability
• Configuration button
• Information button

Open Configure to change how the module behaves.

The module must be inactive before configuration can be changed.

If the module is active, deactivate it first using the Cancel button.

14.1 Individual System Switches

Each supported system can be selected individually.

This allows you to choose exactly which systems the module should manage.

14.2 Information Icons

If you are unsure what a system does, tap the information icon.

The app explains the system in simple terms.

The available systems depend on the vehicle. Not all systems are available in every vehicle.

The app only shows systems according to the selected vehicle model and available configuration.

15.1 Speed Warning / ISA

This system warns the driver when the vehicle exceeds the detected or stored speed limit.

The driver may notice:

• warning sounds
• flashing speed sign

15.2 Traffic Sign Recognition / RSA

This system detects or displays traffic signs, such as speed limits.

The driver may notice:

• traffic signs shown in the instrument cluster
• traffic signs shown in the head-up display, if equipped

15.3 Pre-Collision System / PCS

This system helps warn the driver of a possible collision and may support braking assistance depending on the situation.

The driver may notice:

• collision warnings
• brake warnings
• warning lights
• automatic braking depending on the vehicle situation

15.4 Lane Departure Alert / LDA

This system warns the driver if the vehicle may leave its lane.

The driver may notice:

• lane warning symbols
• steering wheel vibration or warning
• acoustic or visual lane warnings
• steering assistance

15.5 Lane Tracing Assist / LTA

This system may assist with lane centering or lane following when active.

The driver may notice:

• steering assistance
• lane guidance symbols
• active support while driving with cruise control

15.6 Driver Monitoring System / DMS

This system monitors driver attention, depending on vehicle equipment.

The driver may notice:

• driver attention warnings
• visual and acoustic alerts
• reminders to look at the road

15.7 Driver Attention Warning / DAW

This system may suggest a break if it detects signs of reduced attention or fatigue.

The driver may notice:

• break suggestion
• coffee cup symbol

15.8 Blind Spot Monitor / BSM

This system warns about vehicles in the blind spot area.

The driver may notice:

• warning lights in the side mirrors
• blind spot alerts

15.9 Rear Cross Traffic Alert / RCTA

This system warns of cross traffic when reversing.

The driver may notice:

• rear cross traffic warning
• warning symbols
• acoustic warnings while reversing

15.10 Front Cross Traffic Alert / FCTA

This system warns of cross traffic in front of the vehicle, depending on equipment.

The driver may notice:

• front cross traffic alerts
• visual or acoustic warnings

15.11 Safe Exit Assist / SEA

This system may warn when opening a door could be dangerous because another road user is approaching.

The driver may notice:

• door opening warning
• mirror warning light
• acoustic or visual alert

15.12 Lane Change Assist / LCA

This system may support lane changes depending on vehicle equipment.

The driver may notice:

• lane change assistance

15.13 Proactive Driving Assist / PDA

This system may support smoother driving in certain situations.

The driver may notice:

• early deceleration assistance
• steering or braking support depending on conditions

15.14 Parking Support Brake / PKSB

This system may help reduce collision risk while parking.

The driver may notice:

• parking brake warnings
• automatic braking assistance while parking
• warning messages during low-speed manoeuvres

15.15 Parking Sensors / ICS

This system warns about obstacles near the vehicle.

The driver may notice:

• parking sensor beeps
• obstacle display

15.16 Rear Camera Detection / RCD

This system may detect people or objects behind the vehicle using the rear camera, depending on vehicle equipment.

The driver may notice:

• rear camera warnings
• visual warnings while reversing

15.17 Emergency Brake Signal / EBS

This function may be available only on selected vehicles.

The driver may notice:

• The hazard lights flash during heavy deceleration

15.18 Parking Brake Warning / HBW

This function may be available only on selected vehicles.

The driver may notice:

• a warning appears when the mechanical parking brake is applied while driving

The AAC Module is activated and deactivated with the Cancel button on the steering wheel.

Standard is the default activation method.

17.1 Activate

Hold the Cancel button for about 1 second.

The module activates and applies your selected settings.

17.2 Deactivate

Hold the Cancel button for about 2 seconds.

The module deactivates and the affected systems return to their normal state.

Multipress is an alternative activation method.

18.1 Activate

Press the Cancel button three times.

18.2 Deactivate

Press the Cancel button three times again.

Multipress is useful if you prefer short button presses instead of holding the button, or if holding the Cancel button is assigned to another function.

The button presses must be made clearly and within a short time.

AutoPreset™ is an optional paid feature.

With AutoPreset™, the settings selected in the app are automatically applied after each vehicle start.

This means you do not need to press the Cancel button manually after every start.

19.1 What AutoPreset™ Does

When the vehicle is started, AutoPreset™ applies your selected configuration automatically.

The exact timing may vary depending on the vehicle model.

19.2 When AutoPreset™ Is Useful

AutoPreset™ is useful if you want your configuration applied automatically every time you start the vehicle and do not want to press the Cancel button every time.

19.3 Unlocking AutoPreset™

AutoPreset™ can be unlocked in the app.

Depending on availability, unlocking may be possible by:

• in-app purchase
• activation code

The module must be connected during unlocking.

One AutoPreset™ licence is linked to one module.

19.4 Licence Behaviour

A licence is stored for the module.

Purchased licences remain available after:

• app restart
• module reset
• firmware update

Once activated, if you reinstall the app or use a new phone, the license stays saved inside the module.

19.5 AutoPreset™ and Manual Activation

When AutoPreset™ is active, manual activation with the Cancel button is no longer required after every start.

Activate the module once and it stays till you deactivate it again.

Memory Mode is included with AutoPreset™.

Memory Mode works differently from the normal AutoPreset™ configuration.

Instead of applying fixed settings selected in the app, Memory Mode restores the last system settings that were configured directly in the vehicle.

20.1 How Memory Mode Works

In simple terms:

1. You adjust the systems directly in the vehicle menu.
2. The module saves the system states when the vehicle is switched off.
3. At the next start, the module restores that saved state automatically.

20.2 When Memory Mode Is Useful

Memory Mode is useful if you prefer to change settings directly in the vehicle instead of selecting fixed settings in the app.

Example:

• Today you drive with one system enabled.
• Tomorrow you change it directly in the vehicle menu.
• The module remembers your latest choice and restores it next time.

Only settings and systems supported by the selected vehicle and module configuration can be restored.

Open Information in the app to view module and vehicle-related status information.

Available information may include:

• live module status
• live system status
• selected vehicle model
• module serial number
• firmware version
• app version
• live battery voltage
• firmware update status

22.1 Battery Voltage

The app shows the vehicle battery voltage.

The displayed battery voltage may differ from the actual voltage measured directly at the battery, as it is measured behind the instrument cluster.

The battery voltage is used for the Deep Sleep Mode.

22.2 Live System Status

The app can show the current state of supported systems.

Status labels may include:

• active
• inactive
• disabled
• suppressed
• not available

The AAC Module supports wireless firmware updates through the AAC Control app.

Firmware updates may add features, improve compatibility or fix issues.

23.1 Update Availability

The app checks for updates when connected to the module and when internet access is available.

If an update is available, the main screen may show an update message.

23.2 Before Updating

Before starting a firmware update:

• park the vehicle safely
• switch the vehicle off
• keep the phone inside the vehicle
• make sure the phone has enough battery
• keep the app open

23.3 Update Steps

1. Connect to the module.
2. Open Information.
3. Open the firmware update section.
4. Check for available updates.
5. Download the update to your smartphone.
6. Switch the vehicle off
7. Start the installation.
8. Wait until the installation is complete.
9. Allow the module to restart.
10. Wait until the module reconnects.

Deep Sleep Mode helps reduce power consumption when the vehicle is parked.

24.1 Purpose

The module is designed to avoid unnecessary battery drain when the vehicle is parked.

When the vehicle is switched off and the module is not needed, it can enter a low-power state.

24.2 When Deep Sleep Starts

Deep Sleep will start when:

• the vehicle is switched off
• there is no active app connection
• no CAN bus activity is detected
• the starter battery voltage falls below the threshold of 12.0 V

24.3 Waking the Module

The module wakes automatically when CAN bus activity is detected.

This can happen when:

• when the key fob is brought close to the vehicle
• when the vehicle is unlocked using the key fob
• when vehicle functions are controlled via the Toyota app

24.4 Settings Are Saved

Deep Sleep does not delete or change settings.

Your configuration remains stored.

A reset deletes the selected vehicle model and configuration.

Purchased licences remain stored for the module.

25.1 When to Reset

Use reset if:

• you selected the wrong vehicle model
• you want to install the module in a different compatible vehicle
• you want to configure the module again

25.2 What Is Deleted

A reset deletes/ resets:

• selected vehicle model
• selected systems
• activation method
• module mode
• warning light suppression setting
• Deep Sleep configuration

25.3 What Is Not Deleted

A reset does not delete:

• purchased licences
• module serial number
• firmware version

The AAC Module includes a status LED on the back side.

The LED helps identify the correct functionality of the module.

27.1 The App Does Not Find the Module

Possible causes:

• vehicle has not been switched on
• Bluetooth is disabled on the phone
• app permissions are missing
• Bluetooth time window has expired
• module is in Deep Sleep Mode
• phone is too far away from the module
• wrong vehicle model was selected during setup
• installation connector is not fully seated

Try this:

1. Switch the vehicle off and on again.
2. Restart the app.
3. Make sure Bluetooth is enabled.

If the wrong vehicle model was selected, reset the module and configure it again with the correct model.

27.2 The Module Was Found Before but Not Now

After setup, Bluetooth is only available for a limited time after vehicle start.

Start the vehicle again and search immediately.

27.3 Configuration Cannot Be Changed

The module is probably active.

Deactivate the module using the Cancel button first.

27.4 Cancel Button Does Not React

Possible causes:

• short delay after last activation or deactivation
• button was not held long enough
• Multi-Press timing was too slow
• Memory Mode is active
• selected activation method is different from expected

Try this:

1. Wait a few seconds.
2. Release the button fully.
3. Try again using another activation method.
4. Check the activation method in the app.

27.5 Module Activates but Settings Are Not as Expected

Possible causes:

• wrong systems selected
• selected system is not available in the vehicle
• vehicle model selected incorrectly
• Memory Mode is active instead of Standard or AutoPreset™

Open the app and check the configuration.

27.6 Firmware Update Cannot Be Installed

Firmware installation is only possible when the vehicle is switched off.

Follow the instructions shown in the app.

Check that:

• vehicle is switched off
• phone has internet connection
• phone is close to the module
• app remains open
• phone battery is sufficient

27.7 Firmware Update Was Interrupted

Follow the app instructions.

Restart the update with the vehicle parked and switched off.

If the module does not reconnect, contact support.

27.8 AutoPreset™ Does Not Work

Check:

• AutoPreset™ is unlocked
• AutoPreset™ is selected in the configuration
• the module is connected and configured
• the correct vehicle model is selected
• vehicle was fully restarted
• firmware is up to date

27.9 Memory Mode Does Not Restore Settings

Check:

• AutoPreset™ is unlocked
• Memory Mode is selected
• supported systems were set directly in the vehicle menu

27.10 Indicators Do Not Flash When Unlocking the Doors

If the module is in Deep Sleep Mode, it may need a short moment to wake up.

In some cases, vehicle indicator feedback during unlocking may behave differently while the module wakes.

This is not a defect but an effect of the module waking up from Deep Sleep Mode.

27.11 In-App Purchase or Activation Code Does Not Work

Check:

• module is connected
• phone has internet access
• serial number is shown in the app
• app is updated to the latest version

If the problem remains, contact support with your module serial number.

If you need support, please prepare the following information:

• vehicle model and model code
• model year
• app version
• module firmware version
• module serial number
• selected module mode
• selected activation method
• description of the issue
• photos or video if useful

28.1 When to Contact Support

Contact support if:

• the vehicle shows persistent warning messages since the module has been installed
• firmware update fails repeatedly
• activation does not work
• the wrong vehicle model was selected and reset is not possible
• you are unsure whether your vehicle is compatible
• installation appears incorrect
• items are damaged or missing

29.1 Handling

Handle the module carefully.

Avoid:

• dropping the module
• pulling on cables
• bending connectors
• exposing the module to water
• exposing the module to extreme heat outside normal vehicle conditions
• modifying the module or wiring harness

29.2 Cleaning

Do not use liquids or cleaning chemicals on the module.

29.3 Storage

If the module is removed from the vehicle, store it:

• dry
• protected from dust
• protected from direct sunlight
• protected from static discharge
• together with its wiring harness

29.4 Modifications

Do not open, modify or repair the module yourself.

Unauthorized modifications may cause malfunction and void support or warranty claims.
